Xavi Sanchez is from Barcelona, Spain and is a climbing cartoonist. His company, Xavimountain, is well established in Europe. Xavi has been climbing for almost 40 years and continues to push his climbing and his art. He says, “Drawing has been my second hobby and I have been published on different sites. I didn't study drawing anywhere, it's something I've always done. I always try to add a touch of humor to everything I do.”

Xavier practices all kinds of climbing; in summer, sports and big walls; In winter, ice. Since he started climbing he hasn’t stopped drawing climbers. He shared, “My job now is to try to live off this (very, very difficult thing). I don’t earn much, but as I’ve progressed I need less to live.”

So who’s the man behind the artist behind the drawings?

“I have a wife, a daughter, and a son. No matter how hard I've tried, none of them climb. Another thing is that I don't like to appear in the photos and I try not to let anyone take them of me, I want my drawings to be known and not me.” Thus, at Xavi's request we will keep him a man of mystery and keep the focus on his drawings.
