Editorial
These are stories from the soul. They are valuable, and heart-breaking, tales of individual experiences of people who have struggled in a world fraught with hatred, bigotry, and racism. All of these voices belong to climbers, sharing the same passion for climbing that each of us has. Our climbing connects us. But, our shared love of climbing cannot white-wash the realities of very real disparities and injustices towards people with a darker skin color, different physical abilities, or different sexual orientation.
These pages of the July 2020 "Honoring Diversity" edition is, in its entirety, their platform. It's time for them to tell us their stories. It's (beyond) time for us to truly listen and to take guided action. Not just now, but for as long as we climb on this earth. As Common Climbers, we embrace all. To our contributors, thank you for sharing. -- Stefani Dawn |
