Looking for a useful affordable gift for a climber? Consider the Sukoa chalk bag. At only $12, it is one of the most affordable chalk bags out there. But its not just a sack that holds chalk, it’s actually well-designed. Surprisingly, I have discovered I am a bit picky about chalk bags. I never really thought I’d write a review about a chalk bag, but there are several reasons why the Sukoa is my favorite chalk bag to date:

- It has not just one, but TWO zippered pockets. A zippered pocket in a chalk bag is a must for me because it is where I hold my keys, money/credit cards, and wedding ring while climbing (both indoor and out). The Sukoa’s smaller pocket easily holds these valuable items while the larger pocket is large enough to hold snacks or a phone! (Although I am disappointed it doesn’t fit my iPhone 6+ in a Life-proof case).
- It has a large opening for the hand to easily reach the chalk.
- The opening cinches closed tightly so chalk does not leak during transport.
- It is deep and soft inside. The deepness prevents chalk from spilling out or making a chalk cloud every time you take a dip. The fuzzy softness inside just feels nice.
- Despite the large opening, deep depth and having two pockets, its actually not overly large. The size is on par with other harness-style-chalk bags.
- It comes with an adjustable belt so you can wear it independently from your harness. Or, if you prefer a harness hanger, remove the belt and clip the bag to the back of your harness. I personally like how the bag hangs from the belt. It always seems to be where I want it and at a good, untwisted angle to access the opening. With the belt I can also adjust it to hang lower if I am wearing a lot of gear on my harness.
- I have been using the chalk bag for the past 6 months and have not had any issues with durability.
- At around $12 the price is excellent.

- The Sukoa is more of a statement of practicality than personality. It comes in one color - black. If you fancy unique designs that make a personal statement, this chalk bag may not be for you (or your gift recipient). But, if you can find another way to express your climbing individuality and desire some utility in your chalk-bag, then check out the Sukoa.
