Massimo Cappuccio started climbing in the early 1990s and, since the beginning, has been committed to the development and promotion of this sport. In the area of Syracuse (Sicily), where he lives, Massimo built the first indoor climbing gym and bolted the first sectors, opening several long routes (trad and sport).
Since 2004, he has been the author of the "Di Roccia Di Sole" climbing guidebook for Sicily, which now in its fifth edition. From 2009 to 2018, Massimo organized the international SanVito Climbing Festival - the first in Sicily and certainly one of the most popular in Italy. Massimo writes and publishes articles and photographs in the main climbing magazines in many countries - USA, Canada, South Africa, Germany, Poland, UK, Belgium and of course in Italy where he collaborates with the Up-Climbing magazine. After almost thirty years of climbing he always has great enthusiasm and a desire to climb new pitches. Massimo has traveled to the most remote areas of the five continents, in over seventy countries, making long journeys by mountain bike, trekking and participating in mountaineering expeditions.
