It has been an on-again-off-again relationship for me and climbing. Nearly 20 years ago we started this dance. Partners came and went. But, finally I found the perfect partner; my eight year old daughter. Her interests pulled me right back in and lassoed the rest of the family with it. Now we find ourselves walking out of the mountains many evenings cackling about the day in search of the nearest ice cream instead of tailgate beers. These are the tales that inspire me the most.
Moving to the northwest two years ago was a dream fulfilled. No longer does a day of climbing and running need to be separate, for there are miles of trail leading to thousands of feet of easy climbing. Whether it is a big day moving through the mountains or climbing with the fam, you will most likely find me with a goofy grin in some dirt pull out, exhausted from living right. Or at least trying to.
