My name is Michael Hjorth, and I live in Copenhagen, Denmark. I started climbing in spring 1980. I have been climbing ever since, never really taking any breaks. Apart from a few alpine four thousenders (and a trip tp Ama Dablam) during the eighties, I have primarily focused on tradclimbing and bigwalling in Europe, Greenland and Yosemite. Trollwall in Norway could be my highpoint (my friend and I are still the only Danes pulling that off). Climbing is a relatively small sport and community in Denmark (having no rocks or mountains), and without blushing too much, I might say that I am the most well-known climber here.
Incidentally my face popped up in Climbing this month, when they wanted to shown a "mature" climber. Well well, not to my advantage, though! Actually, if you search for "old rock climber" on world's biggest photo bank, Getty Images, my image pops up four times on page one (ok, one of them is only my hand). Silly!
